London is full of gorgeous markets every corner of the city during the weekend, but one of my favourites has to be
One of the best things about the market is before you actually get there. The other day I took my mum and nan to the market when they were visiting London, without telling them first where we were going. As we neared the street, we were met with crowds of people carrying weird and wonderful plants, and the most beautiful bouquets of flowers! We followed these sweet hints like little mice following a trail of biscuit crumbs, and sooner or later they knew we were headed straight for a flower market :)
The street itself is like all typical markets - bellowing sellers behind their stalls shouting out their latest offers. And even though you get an earful of flower prices renditions in true cockney fashion, you can't help but take something pretty home! As the market isn't particularly big, I would definitely advise going as early as possible, unless of course you want to be squashed into a basket full of tulips ;)
You can easily make a whole morning out of this Sunday market thanks to the number of gorgeous little cafes dotted along Columbia Road. Situated in East London, just outside of Shoreditch, it has a very vintage feel to it so you can also do a little bit of bargain hunting while you're there. Make sure to try the Cake Hole a cute cafe actually based inside the shop, Vintage Heaven!
And last but not least, don't miss the Ezra Street yard-market, just off the corner of Columbia Road - another Aladdin's cave full of vintage delights waiting to be discovered!
