It's been somewhat difficult keeping up with the blog recently, now in my third week of the photography course I've got pictures coming at me from all angles! But so far it's brilliant and totally hands-on - within the first week we were casting models and setting up our very own studio shoot. Best way to learn: get stuck straight in! (Photos from the course coming soon)

However, aside from all the excitement of photos and fashion, being in Italy there is no way not to sneak in a few trips to discover this stunning country. The places are endless... Last week one of my closest friends came to visit for the weekend and we took a day out to the beautiful Lake Como. Only 40 minutes away from Milan, it's the perfect little getaway. And boy, was it perfect...

As is typical for Milan weather, on Saturday it was tipping it down with rain. So with all the hope we could muster, we asked for a bit of sunshine on Sunday. And I guess our prayers were answered - the day literally couldn't have been any better!
I went photo crazy, it was just too beautiful to capture.

We took the train from Milan to Como town, which cost a mere €5 each way and spent the day strolling about. Of course, we made a much needed (ha!) pitstop for a bit of pizza and wine in one of the lake-side restaurants dotted along the water. I have to say that the pizza was really one of the best I've had here so far...! Make sure to also hop on the funicolare (funicular), we had some incredible views of the town and lake. This is also really decent at only €5.80 per person.

It was truly one of those days that you want to engrave on your memory and never let fade. The colours, the fresh air, the beautiful houses dotted along valleys, the snowy alps... ah... it's just such a shame that Mr. Clooney wasn't around to join us! ;)
