Isn't it funny, how something that annoys you so much when you're younger, is something you learn to love when you grow up? I personally used to hate olives, and now can't seem to get enough of them! But what I also remember, is how much my brother and I used to groan and whine at the thought of going for "a drive into the countryside" - I mean, WHO, would want to do that? Well, apparently now, I would!
Living in Dubai, a desert sandpit as most call it, makes going back to lush England in sunny, cool September, something truly special. I spent last week visiting some friends on a quick weekend in London and then headed up north to little Chesterfield, where I took these travel photographs.
Once a sweet medieval town in Derbyshire, Chesterfield has now grown and doesn't have quite a charming town centre as it once did. However, the countryside surrounding it, as well as some of its suburbs, are really quite something. And on such a beautiful day, I couldn't resist taking a quick trip into the hills. I just love the stony cottages and beautiful flowers...If you ever get the chance, take a road trip to the Peak or Lake Districts, preferably during summer - the country towns and rolling hills really are a sight to see!
As the weather was so glorious the few days I was there, I also managed to squeeze in a couple of style shoots, taken by my lovely friend Lydia for the blog. I'll be sharing those soon - but you can see a sneak peak of one of them in the last picture :)
